Grayscale Report: AAVE Fair Value Could Reach $175 Amid Regulatory Clarity and RWA Adoption

Importance High

Grayscale Research has published a report suggesting that Aave’s (AAVE) fair value could reach approximately $175 within the next year, contingent on clearer regulations accelerating the adoption of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). The firm currently estimates AAVE’s fair value between $80 and $100, while the token trades near $73.

Aave is a leading decentralized lending protocol that allows users to deposit crypto assets, earn yield, and borrow against collateral via smart contracts. According to Grayscale, the broader DeFi ecosystem holds over $59 billion in deposits and $25 billion in outstanding loans, with Aave controlling a significant share. The protocol serves nearly 200,000 monthly users and generates revenue from lending spreads, treasury earnings, and its native overcollateralized stablecoin, GHO.

Grayscale notes that Aave’s financial performance has strengthened considerably, with revenue increasing more than sixfold between 2023 and 2025, while profitability remained around 50%. The protocol’s DAO treasury has at times held over $360 million, providing capital for expansion.

A key driver of Grayscale’s bullish outlook is Aave’s institutional expansion plan, Horizon, which would allow institutions to use tokenized RWAs as collateral for DeFi liquidity. The firm believes regulatory clarity could boost adoption of these products, driving loan growth and revenues. Additional catalysts include the expansion of GHO, the Umbrella safety module, the upcoming V4 protocol architecture, and a simplified Aave App aimed at mainstream users.

Grayscale’s valuation framework suggests that AAVE’s current market price implies modest long-term earnings growth despite strong sector tailwinds. Regulatory uncertainty is cited as a primary reason for AAVE trading at a discount compared to traditional fintech firms with similar lending profiles.

Last month, Aave Labs announced that its UK-based subsidiaries received registration from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to operate as crypto asset exchange providers and issue electronic money. Founder Stani Kulechov stated that the approvals will enable users to move fiat currency into the Aave ecosystem via a zero-fee on-ramp, part of Aave’s broader regulatory push across Europe.
