IBIT vs FBTC Analysis: Which Bitcoin ETF Will Outperform?

Importance High

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) launched on January 11, 2024, but have diverged significantly in performance. IBIT dominates the market with $47.95 billion in net assets, representing 61% of all Bitcoin ETF assets. Fidelity’s FBTC holds $11.30 billion in net assets.

Both ETFs charge a 0.25% fee. IBIT has accumulated $62 billion in cumulative inflows, six times higher than FBTC’s $10.46 billion. As of June 18, IBIT closed at $35, a 50% drop from its 52-week high of $71, while FBTC closed at $54, down 50.9% from its high of $110.

IBIT’s technical analysis shows support at $34, with an RSI of 35 indicating bearish momentum but potential for a recovery. FBTC shows support at $52, with resistance at $71, mirroring Bitcoin’s price movements.

Bitcoin’s performance has been influenced by ETF flows. From January 2024 to March 2025, Bitcoin surged from $40,000 to $73,000, driven by institutional demand. However, recent outflows have pushed prices lower, with Bitcoin falling from $87,000 in January 2026 to $64,000 in June 2026.

Given identical fees and IBIT’s dominant market share, it is likely to continue outperforming FBTC in net assets and inflows. The CLARITY Act’s potential approval could further boost institutional inflows, but IBIT’s scale gives it a significant edge.
