Binance Will Temporarily Pause BTC Deposits and Withdrawals: What You Need to Know

Importance High

Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced it will temporarily pause deposits and withdrawals on the Bitcoin (BTC) network on July 1. The maintenance is scheduled to last approximately one hour, after which operations will resume. The company assured users that it will handle all technical requirements and that trading on the Bitcoin network will not be affected. Similar maintenance procedures have occurred in the past, including for Ethereum, Cardano, and BNB Chain, without significant complications.

Separately, Binance is facing regulatory hurdles in the European Union. The exchange recently withdrew its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license application with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission in Greece, stating it would pursue authorization in another EU member state. The EU has set July 1 as the compliance deadline for crypto exchanges under MiCA, and Binance has not yet provided official guidance for its European clients. However, according to a customer support conversation shared by Satoshi Club, operations in France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium, and Sweden remain unaffected for now, while users in other EU countries may need to follow withdrawal instructions.
