Theo Invests $20 Million in Fidelity’s Tokenized Fund to Expand Onchain Treasuries

Importance High

Theo has invested $20 million from its institutional tokenized Treasury product, thBILL, into Fidelity International’s USD Digital Liquidity Fund (FILQ). The allocation, executed through Swiss digital asset bank Sygnum, marks the first investment in FILQ by a crypto-native platform.

FILQ carries a Moody’s Aaa-mf rating and provides thBILL with exposure to a regulated tokenized liquidity fund managed by Fidelity International. thBILL is now backed by both FILQ and ULTRA, a Treasury fund issued by Wellington Management and custodied at Standard Chartered. This combination makes thBILL one of the few onchain Treasury products supported by instruments from two major institutional asset managers.

Theo co-CEO Arijit Pingle stated that Fidelity International’s fund offers the strongest institutional foundation for thBILL, enabling 24/7 onchain access to Treasury-style liquidity. Emma Pecenicic, head of digital assets distribution at Fidelity International, noted that tokenization is becoming a foundational shift in financial markets, combining investment expertise with digital-native infrastructure.

FILQ is built on Sygnum’s Desygnate platform, which provides onchain fund registries, smart-contract settlement, and round-the-clock subscriptions. Chainlink handles the onchain data layer via the Chainlink Runtime Environment, bringing FILQ’s net asset value and distribution data onchain with daily NAV data approved by JPMorgan.

Theo’s product suite includes thBILL, thGOLD, and thUSD. The platform has processed over $1 billion in cumulative trading volume across more than 80,000 users in over 60 countries.
