OKX Announces Direct Crypto Aid for Venezuelans Hit by Devastating Twin Earthquakes
Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has launched a humanitarian aid initiative for Venezuelans affected by the twin earthquakes that struck on June 24, 2026, causing over 2,000 deaths and the collapse of hundreds of buildings.
In a statement on its Latin American social media account, OKX acknowledged the difficulty of recent days but highlighted the solidarity shown by the crypto community. “We have also seen something extraordinary: the solidarity of Venezuela and the entire international community, which fills us with hope,” the exchange said.
To support those in the hardest-hit region, OKX will automatically credit 20 USDT to each user who can provide proof of address (POA) confirming they reside in La Guaira, the state most affected by the disaster. No registration, claim code, or qualifying transaction is required; funds will be deposited once eligibility is verified.
The exchange noted that support is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, though it did not disclose the total funds allocated for this relief effort.
This initiative follows a similar move by Binance, the most popular exchange in Venezuela, which pledged $3 million in aid to users in La Guaira and six other affected states. Binance offers 20 USDT redeemable vouchers to eligible users.
OKX concluded its announcement with a message of solidarity: “We know that the road ahead will require effort, help, and support from everyone for a long time. But you will not walk it alone. We are one region, and we will be with you on this journey. We stand with you, Venezuela.”
