Bitcoin Suisse Secures Abu Dhabi FSRA License for Institutional Crypto Services
Bitcoin Suisse has secured a license from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), marking a significant expansion of its regulated footprint.
On July 7, 2026, the firm’s Middle East subsidiary, BTCS (Middle East) Ltd., received full Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the FSRA. This approval allows the company to offer a suite of regulated digital asset services to institutional clients across the UAE, including spot trading in accepted virtual assets, institutional-grade custody, and hedging solutions such as derivatives.
Bitcoin Suisse is currently ranked as the world’s fourth-largest staking operator by assets. The licensing process scrutinized the firm’s track record of safeguarding $3.7 billion in crypto assets globally.
This development comes approximately two years after Bitcoin Suisse secured a MiCAR Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Liechtenstein’s Financial Market Authority on June 22, 2026. That earlier license grants the firm full EEA passporting rights, enabling it to serve high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients across European markets. Together, these approvals establish a “four-pillar” regulated footprint for the company.
Abu Dhabi has been a growing hub for institutional crypto infrastructure, attracting major players. Binance previously set a foothold in Abu Dhabi with an ADGM global license, becoming one of the largest exchanges to secure multiple FSRA authorizations covering trading and custody. Crypto exchange Kraken also obtained an Abu Dhabi license earlier in the same period.
ADGM’s Chief Market Development Officer Arvind Ramamurthy has publicly acknowledged the jurisdiction’s attractiveness for institutional-grade crypto services. The framework offers regulatory clarity comparable to Europe’s MiCA and supports access to fast-growing Middle Eastern and global South markets.
Bitcoin Suisse also confirmed that BTCS (Middle East) Ltd. is positioned to support clients in accessing tokenized real-world assets in the future.
