Wells Fargo, the $2.5 trillion asset management giant, has revealed substantial crypto holdings in its latest filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The bank disclosed exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana through exchange-traded funds (ETFs), as well as shares in several crypto-related companies.

According to the filing, Wells Fargo holds 6.5 million shares of BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF (IBIT). However, this position decreased by 75,102 shares compared to the previous quarter. The bank also trimmed stakes in the Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCO), Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, and Fidelity Bitcoin ETF (FBTC). Conversely, it increased holdings in the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini ETF, Bitwise’s BITB (up 24% quarter-over-quarter), and GBTC.

On the Ethereum front, Wells Fargo boosted its exposure by 65% in BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF (ETHA), now holding over 1.1 million shares worth approximately $17.56 million. Additionally, it holds 257,157 shares of the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, 4,637 shares of the Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF, and 623 shares of VanEck’s ETHV.

The bank also disclosed new positions in Solana ETFs, acquiring 13,280 shares of Grayscale’s GSOL and 1,638 shares of Fidelity’s Solana Fund (FSOL).

Beyond ETFs, Wells Fargo significantly increased its stake in Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR), boosting shares by 125% to nearly 726,000, adding an estimated $41.5 million in exposure. It also revealed new holdings in Trump family-linked American Bitcoin Corp (ABTC) and Strive (ASST). The bank’s stake in Bitmine Immersion’s BMNR rose sharply from 2,323 to 21,547 shares—an 828% increase—bringing Ethereum treasury exposure to $426,000. Robinhood (HOOD) holdings jumped 65% to 2.56 million shares, while put options worth nearly $116,000 were opened.

In contrast, Wells Fargo slashed its Galaxy Digital stake by approximately 97% and reduced its Coinbase (COIN) holding by 25%, signaling a strategic shift away from certain crypto stocks.
