Bitget Launches New CFD Copy Trading Features and Tiered Margin Framework
Bitget has rolled out a comprehensive update for its Contracts for Difference (CFD) trading platform, introducing copy trading functionality and a tiered margin framework. The new features aim to improve the trading experience in leveraged markets.
Traders can now access copy trading directly from the trading screen, eliminating the need to navigate separate platform sections. The update covers multiple asset classes, including foreign exchange, commodities, precious metals, and stock indices. Additionally, the exchange has strengthened margin requirement calculations based on trading exposure.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated, ‘As more traders diversify across markets, the trading experience needs to become simpler without sacrificing transparency or risk management. Accessing market information, evaluating experienced traders, and managing positions should happen within the same workflow.’ She added, ‘Capital requirements should also reflect the size of a position. These updates make CFD trading efficient while giving users greater clarity over how they deploy capital and manage risk.’
A key addition is the ‘Popular Traders’ panel, which appears on every CFD instrument page. This panel provides a window into traders’ interests, allowing users to review successful traders without leaving the chart view. Each trader profile displays performance metrics such as 30-day returns, copier activity, and other relevant data to help users compare before following. If no trader is found in a particular market, the platform directs users to its broader copy trading leaderboard.
Bitget has also introduced an exclusive ‘copied positions’ tab within the CFD interface. This feature distinguishes copied trades from manual trades and groups them by the trader being followed. Users can rank positions by unrealized profit/loss or position value for easier portfolio monitoring.
The update also includes an exposure-based margin structure. Instead of a single margin requirement for all positions, the system applies different margin levels based on the account’s total notional exposure. Larger positions are subject to higher margin tiers. Additionally, predefined margin levels are applied during the 30-minute windows before and after market open and close to accommodate increased volatility.
These enhancements are part of Bitget’s ongoing efforts to bridge traditional and crypto markets, offering traders more tools and flexibility in managing their investments.
