Strategy Sells $263.5 Million of MSTR Stock but Adds No Bitcoin

Importance High

Strategy Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTR) raised $263.5 million through at-the-market stock sales during the week ending July 19, 2026, but did not add to its bitcoin treasury, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company sold 2,732,318 MSTR shares, generating approximately $263.5 million in net proceeds. No preferred-stock sales or share repurchases occurred during the period. The filing showed that Strategy’s U.S. dollar reserve grew to $3.225 billion, intended to support dividends on preferred stock and interest payments on outstanding debt.

Bitcoin holdings remained unchanged at 843,775 BTC, acquired for $63.69 billion at an average cost of $75,476 per bitcoin. The last disclosed bitcoin purchase was on June 22, marking a four-week pause in acquisitions.

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor highlighted the increased cash reserve on X, drawing attention to the company’s strong liquidity position. One day before the filing, Saylor posted Strategy’s familiar orange-dot bitcoin acquisition chart alongside the question, “What’s next?” but announced no new purchase.

The filing also noted that approximately $23.53 billion remained available under the MSTR at-the-market program, with additional capacity across preferred-stock offerings. Strategy did not indicate whether the latest proceeds would eventually be deployed into bitcoin or retained for other purposes.

Saylor has continued to advocate for broader institutional bitcoin adoption, arguing that corporations, banks, insurers, pensions, and credit markets are increasingly participating. He has also opposed proposed protocol changes like BIP 110, favoring conservative base-layer rules as institutional interest grows.

Future SEC filings will reveal whether the expanded dollar reserve precedes another bitcoin acquisition or signals a longer period of balance-sheet flexibility. For now, Strategy has raised fresh capital, strengthened its liquidity, and left its bitcoin holdings unchanged for another reporting week.
