Render Completes 98% Of Solana Migration As RENDER Replaces RNDR
Render Foundation has announced that 98.4% of the token supply has migrated from Ethereum-based RNDR to native RENDER on Solana, marking a significant milestone in the project’s infrastructure transition. The migration shifts render task settlement onto Solana’s high-throughput network, which is designed to improve speed, reduce transaction costs, and enhance network efficiency for coordinating and paying for compute-related jobs.
Render sits at the intersection of crypto, AI, GPU infrastructure, and decentralized compute. By moving the vast majority of token supply to Solana, the project aims to establish a more efficient foundation for future network activity. The remaining unmigrated supply is largely inactive cold storage, suggesting that the active market has already completed the transition.
The decision to move to Solana was driven by performance needs. A decentralized rendering network must coordinate jobs, payments, and participants efficiently. High transaction costs or slow settlement can degrade user experience. Solana’s low fees and fast confirmations are attractive for networks expecting frequent interactions. For Render, which is infrastructure for distributed GPU rendering, this matters as demand for compute infrastructure grows with AI and graphics workloads.
Token migrations are operationally important, not just cosmetic. Moving from RNDR to native RENDER changes where the token lives, how it settles, and how users interact with the network. Exchanges, wallets, custodians, and applications must support the transition. A 98.4% migration rate reduces fragmentation between old and new token versions and gives the ecosystem confidence that future integrations can focus on Solana-native RENDER.
Solana also benefits from Render’s migration. The network has worked to attract serious infrastructure projects beyond meme-token trading. Despite the migration milestone, decentralized compute remains a competitive market. Centralized cloud providers are powerful, and specialized GPU marketplaces are growing. Render must prove its decentralized model can compete on reliability, pricing, performance, and ease of use. The migration to Solana removes a major transition risk and provides a cleaner technical base, but the network still needs sustained demand from creators, developers, AI users, and enterprise workloads.
