BNB Chain Becomes Main Network For Franklin Templeton’s Benji Assets

Importance Critical

BNB Chain has become the largest blockchain host for Franklin Templeton’s Benji platform assets, with approximately $1.5 billion in tokenized money market fund assets, representing 61.7% of the platform’s total $2.44 billion under management. This positions BNB Chain ahead of Stellar ($573 million) and Ethereum ($159 million). The platform remains multi-chain, so this does not indicate a departure from other networks but rather a notable shift in asset concentration.

Real-world assets (RWAs) are increasingly bridging traditional finance and blockchain networks. BNB Chain’s low-cost structure is attractive for institutional settlements, where transaction costs and reliability are critical. While Ethereum is often seen as the default institutional network and Stellar has a long-standing relationship with Franklin Templeton, BNB Chain’s rise challenges assumptions about which chain dominates RWA settlement.

The data supports a multi-chain future for tokenized assets, with issuers deploying across networks to reach different users and liquidity environments. For BNB Chain, this provides an institutional angle beyond its typical association with retail DeFi and exchange activity. However, the presence of Benji assets does not automatically impact BNB token prices or guarantee that all RWA issuers will follow.

This development highlights a broader competition among blockchain networks for tokenized finance, where credible assets and distributed infrastructure are key. It shows that institutional tokenized assets can flow toward networks offering the right mix of cost, security, and distribution.
