Samsung Wallet Adds Native Stablecoin Support in a Major Leap for Mainstream Crypto Adoption
Samsung has announced that its Samsung Wallet app will soon support native stablecoins, marking a significant step toward mainstream cryptocurrency adoption. The news came during the 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company also unveiled its first credit card, the Samsung Galaxy Card.
“Looking ahead, Samsung Wallet will expand beyond cash and savings. It will embrace new forms of digital value, including stablecoins,” said Lee Dinham, Product Manager at Samsung. A mockup displayed during the presentation showed Circle’s USDC, though Samsung did not officially name any specific stablecoin partner like USDC or USDT.
Dinham emphasized that this integration would make Samsung “one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stablecoins to a smartphone, enabling fast and trusted digital value transfers.”
The Samsung Galaxy Card offers users 5% cash rewards on eligible purchases at Samsung stores and other benefits. Dinham stated that with these additions, “Samsung Wallet becomes the foundation of a connected financial ecosystem across Galaxy devices and services, bringing payments, rewards, and digital assets together in one unified experience.”
Samsung has a history of crypto-friendly initiatives, including embedding a cryptocurrency wallet in its Galaxy S10 series in 2019 with hardware-backed security. More recently, in October 2025, Samsung integrated Coinbase One, Coinbase’s subscription service, into Samsung Wallet for U.S. users, providing easier crypto access to millions of consumers.
This development signals growing acceptance of stablecoins by major technology firms, potentially accelerating mainstream crypto adoption.
