Major Binance Update for Ripple (XRP) Investors: Details
The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, continues to expand its product offerings, this time introducing a significant incentive for Ripple (XRP) stablecoin holders and traders.
Binance first listed RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, at the start of the year, including a zero-trading-fee promotion for a limited period. The stablecoin was initially available only on Ethereum but added support for Ripple’s XRP Ledger within a month.
In subsequent months, Binance integrated RLUSD into its Earn program, allowing users to earn rewards. The latest update from the exchange reveals that the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for RLUSD has been variable but reached an impressive 22.25% over the past week.
Binance confirmed that users holding and trading RLUSD can continue to earn weekly XRP rewards. The stablecoin is now available on Binance’s Margin and Earn programs, offering additional opportunities for yield generation.
RLUSD, which launched in late 2024, is designed primarily for institutional use but has also attracted retail participants. Its market capitalization has grown to nearly $1.6 billion, making it the ninth-largest stablecoin by market cap.
Earlier this year, RLUSD was included in Mastercard’s stablecoin initiative alongside other major stablecoins like USDC, PYUSD, USDP, and SoFiUSD. Additionally, Ripple launched a platform called Ripple Mint to enhance institutional access to RLUSD for easier minting, redemption, and management.
