Ripple executives are backing the CLARITY Act as lawmakers debate the future of U.S. crypto regulation. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse urged action, stating, “Perfect can’t be the enemy of good. Let’s get this done!” The legislation, promoted by Senator Cynthia Lummis, aims to enhance consumer protections, anti-money laundering requirements, and enforcement capabilities. Garlinghouse amplified a message from Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stu Alderoty, who described the bill as a consumer protection measure with stronger oversight. Ripple’s global co-head of public policy, Lauren Belive, warned that rejecting the bill could leave users exposed to risks like the FTX collapse. Support extends beyond crypto firms: Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, and over 200 organizations, including Coinbase and Stand With Crypto, have called for clearer digital asset rules. The CLARITY Act remains under debate, with Senate Republicans pushing for passage amid a narrowing timeline.
