Every CLARITY Act Vote Will Be Scored: 3 Million Crypto Advocates Want Senators to Vote Yes

Importance High

Stand With Crypto, a U.S.-based crypto advocacy organization, announced July 27 that senators’ votes on the CLARITY Act will be recorded in its public scorecards on behalf of 3 million advocates. The organization said each vote will become part of its lawmaker ratings, which crypto owners can use to evaluate candidates ahead of the November elections. It urged lawmakers to vote yes on the legislation, stating that the bill has galvanized millions of crypto owners who are watching which lawmakers stand with them.

The scorecards will record whether each senator supported advancing the legislation, adding the CLARITY Act vote to Stand With Crypto’s existing congressional ratings based on crypto-related actions and public positions. This vote is expected to become one of the highest-profile entries on those scorecards.

With less than 100 days before the midterm elections, a Stand With Crypto report found that nearly eight in 10 crypto owners considered themselves almost certain to vote. Nearly 70% said a candidate’s crypto position would influence their choice, and 73% closely tracked which digital asset policies lawmakers supported. Another 59% identified as swing voters, potentially giving cryptocurrency policy greater weight in competitive races.

The campaign comes during a two-week legislative window before the August recess, with ethics provisions involving public officials remaining central to negotiations. Several Democratic lawmakers have sought stronger ethics and consumer safeguards, creating a difficult vote count as supporters pursue the 60 senators generally required for advancement. Galaxy Research lowered its estimated 2026 passage probability for the CLARITY Act to 30%, citing challenges involving timing, bipartisan support, and unresolved provisions.

The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs advanced its amended market structure legislation by a 15-9 vote on May 14, sending the measure to the full Senate. That bipartisan committee vote reflected negotiations over federal oversight, investor protections, enforcement authority, and operating requirements. The bill now awaits a vote before the full Senate, and for senators, the approaching vote carries two consequences: determining whether the legislation advances and establishing the score that Stand With Crypto will present to millions of advocates.
