Is Cardano (ADA) Finally Shifting From Sell-Off to Accumulation?
Cardano (ADA) rose 4% over the past 24 hours, climbing from around $0.164 to above $0.17 after choppy trading earlier in the week. The uptick pushes monthly gains to approximately 12%.
New data and analyst commentary suggest ADA may be transitioning from a sell-off phase toward accumulation. Pseudonymous analyst ‘The Boss’ noted that buyers have defended a major demand zone between $0.1064 and $0.1503, and recent trading sessions have formed higher lows rather than further breakdowns. A short-term ascending trendline is keeping the recovery structure intact, while price compression below overhead resistance indicates the market is awaiting a directional move rather than extending the decline.
Whale activity also supports a bullish narrative. Data from Santiment shows large ADA holders increased their combined holdings to 25.6 billion tokens, nearly 70% of the circulating supply—the highest level since February 2023. Retail exposure, meanwhile, declined. Analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that whales accumulated 30 million ADA (worth over $5 million) in the past month.
Institutional demand appears steady. According to Blockworks, Cardano ETFs have recorded 16 consecutive months of net inflows.
Despite these positive signals, some market watchers caution that ADA’s long-term performance remains weak. One observer pointed out that a $10,000 investment made five years ago at the token’s all-time high would now be worth around $500. Cardano has also fallen roughly 84% since being mentioned by U.S. President Donald Trump in March 2025 as part of a proposed strategic crypto reserve. From its August 2021 peak, ADA is down about 95%.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson remains optimistic. He compared the ecosystem’s trajectory to Anthropic’s rise in AI, arguing that the company surpassed Google and OpenAI by focusing on the right mindset rather than speed. Hoskinson said developers and investors are increasingly valuing security and governance, and pointed to recent DeFi incidents as examples of how vulnerabilities can impact the wider ecosystem. He emphasized that lasting stability requires clear governance, strong development processes, and a sustainable roadmap. Acknowledging past mistakes, Hoskinson expressed confidence in Cardano’s current position and predicted strong growth over the next 12 to 24 months.
