Robinhood's Q2 Revenue Hits Record $1.31B as Prediction Markets Fuel 10x Surge in Event Contracts
Robinhood posted record second-quarter net revenue of $1.31 billion, up 32% year-over-year, as strong activity across prediction markets, options, and equities offset a sharp decline in crypto income.
Transaction-based revenue jumped 44% to $776 million. Event contracts emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments, with revenue reaching $156 million—more than 10 times higher than a year earlier. The number of contracts traded surged to a record 13.6 billion, also up more than 10x.
CEO Vlad Tenev noted that prediction markets have grown steadily since March and expects the momentum to continue. In June, Robinhood launched Rothera, a CFTC-licensed exchange and clearinghouse, through a joint venture with Susquehanna International Group. Over 3.5 billion event contracts have been traded to date.
Options remained a major contributor, generating $342 million in revenue, up 29% year-over-year. Equities revenue climbed 95% to $129 million, driven by record equity notional trading volumes of $956 billion, an 85% increase.
Crypto revenue fell 38% year-over-year to $100 million, with notional trading volume at $40 billion—$18 billion from Robinhood’s app and $22 billion from Bitstamp.
The company is expanding into blockchain and digital assets internationally. It unveiled the public mainnet for Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network designed for financial services and real-world assets. It also announced stock tokens for eligible users in over 120 countries.
In May, Robinhood launched Agentic Trading, allowing customers to use AI-powered agents to trade equities, options, and crypto. Nearly 100,000 customers have opened accounts, with over $100 million in assets under custody.
The company also completed its acquisition of WonderFi, a Canadian digital asset platform, marking its official entry into the Canadian market. Tenev emphasized the broader expansion strategy focused on making everyone an owner through products like Robinhood Chain, Robinhood Ventures, and Trump Accounts.
