XRP Ledger v3.3.0 Release Brings Five Amendments Into Focus

Importance High

The upcoming xrpld v3.3.0 release scheduled for early August includes five major amendments: Confidential MPT, Batch, Permission Delegation, Sponsored Fees and Reserves, and Dynamic MPT. Activation requires 80% validator consensus, meaning the features are not automatically live upon release.

Sponsored Fees and Reserves could improve user experience by allowing third parties to cover network fees or reserves, reducing onboarding friction. This is particularly useful for enterprise and consumer payment flows where users should not need to acquire XRP solely for transaction costs.

The amendments Confidential MPT and Dynamic MPT enhance the tokenized asset capabilities of the XRP Ledger. These provide issuers with more flexibility, including privacy features and the ability to modify asset behavior over time. This supports institutional tokenization efforts that require controls beyond open, permissionless systems.

Batch transactions and Permission Delegation add operational flexibility. Batching simplifies multi-step transactions, while permission delegation reduces the need for constant direct signing from primary accounts. Together, they make applications more practical for users and institutions managing complex flows.

The v3.3.0 release strengthens XRPL’s roadmap for tokenization and UX upgrades, but its practical impact depends on whether validators support the amendments and whether builders utilize the new tools. This report is based on XRP Ledger release materials.
